On October 1, 2022, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji announced the introduction of 5G service. Although we are aware that it is too late, India will finish it first, according to Mukesh Ambani. By the end of the year, in December 2023, he pledged that 5G service will be available in every state and city.

Throughout 70 nations around the world have already implemented 5G services on a large scale, including: Canada, the United States of America, Europe, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Australia, New Zealand, China, Brazil, etc.
PRESENT SCENARIO: Initially, 5G was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 13 Indian cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Pune, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, and Jamnagar. And eventually it will spread over all of India.
We are aware that the average internet speed in India is really poor; most recently, India was ranked 125th globally in Okla's Speed Test Global Index for Mean Mobile Internet. According to information provided by Okla, the average mobile internet speed in India went from 15.34 Mbps to 20.10 Mbps in April 2022, while the average broadband speed climbed from 55.65 Mbps to 70.86 Mbps.
On the other hand, South Korea was the first nation to massively introduce 5G service in 2019.
A study claims that South Korea has the fastest download speed for 5G, clocking in at 432.7 Mbps, taking first place internationally, ahead of Malaysia (382.2 Mbps), Sweden (333.8 Mbps), Bulgaria (316.8 Mbps), etc.
5G IMPACT ON INDIA: Although this speed is not feasible globally, it is said that the 5G network would have a speed that is 100 times faster than the 4G network, or about 10 Gb per second. However, India's technology and way of life would undergo a complete transformation if it receives at least 150 Mbps of speed. Following are several instances where the Impact of 5G will immediately pay off—
- AGRICULTURE Farmers in Europe or the west utilise the 5G network to boost farming productivity and to remotely operate tractors or other equipment that is used to clear fields while they are at home. Similar to this, India's agricultural and farming practises would undergo a complete transformation with the help of the 5G network.
- HEALTH CARE: Assume that a person from Andaman and Nicobar has to speak with or consult with a doctor in Delhi. Previously, due to the 4G network's slowness, this was not possible. However, thanks to the 5G network, it is now entirely feasible.
- DEFENSE AND SECURITY: On the day when 5G was launched, PM Modi travelled a vehicle to the Qualcomm headquarters in Europe while seated at the Qualcomm office in Delhi. Therefore, with the aid of 5G, we can now avert casualties by employing remote-controlled cars if we had to send our police officers or army soldiers to any dangerous locations, terrorist hotspots, or landmine sites where the risk to their lives would be quite great.
- ECONOMY: India would gain by 36.4 trillion dollars ($455 billion) from the rollout of 5G between 2023 and 2040.
The fact that India will not be dependent on China for the 5G service, unlike other nations that are, however, is quite notable and well appreciated. The fact that the 5G services will be MADE IN INDIA gives us great pride.
Thus, that was the whole thing. I hope this will be beneficial to you.
I'm grateful.
