Reserved Instance (RI) is an EC2 offering that provides you with a significant discount on EC2 usage. When you commit to a One-year or three-year term,
- Amazon EC2 RI provide a significant discount (upto 75%) compared to On-Demand pricing and provide a capacity reservation when used in specific availability zone.
- Reserve Instance give you the option to reserve a DB instance for a one or three term and in turn receive a significant discount compared to the On-Demand Instance pricing for the DB Instance.
